The LG G Flex, along with the Samsung Galaxy Round, are the first line of smartphones with true flexible displays. However, the phones themselves are rigid, with the flexible display only being demonstrated by curving it. The Galaxy Nexus had a curved piece of glass, but a straight display. These two phones have real curved displays. However, they’re not flexible, making flexible displays a bit of a gimmick in this implementation.
We underestimated LG’s offering a little bit flexibility.A video of someone using an LG G Flex smartphone was posted, where they are pushing down on it while it’s lying with the curve up. The entire phone actually flexes flat, then pops right up again like nothing happened. They turn it over and do the same thing to the edges. It looks like quite a resilient phone, not that we would recommend bending the phone often.
