The Huawei made Nexus 6P users are complaining about the poor Microphone response of the device.Many 6P users hit the Google Forums and the XDA developers forums regarding the issue.Users of the device were complaining about the low call quality of the microphone.The person from the opposite side could not hear the voice clearly.The voice is said to be so mild and muffled. Some stated that it was like they were so far away from the device.The problem raises both in Speaker and earpiece mode.Some users said that even in VoIP services like Hangouts, Skype, Whatsapp etc., also they are experiencing the same issue.
Some users reported that on covering the rear microphone that is the noise cancellation Mic resolves the problem.This clearly shows that the problem was with the noise cancellation microphone of the device.If this was said to be a hardware based problem Google and Huawei will be pushed to pull back the sold devices.
Now Google was aware of the incident and are investigating further regarding the issue.If the source of the problem is to be a software related issue, Google will fix the issue by pushing updates to the devices.
Reddit user bossbrew overcame the problem by editing the build.prop file. This can be done by editing persist.audio.fluence.voicecall from True to False".
