Insufficient Storage Space - How to Fix ??

Most of the android users over a period of time arrived at a situation where they can't install new apps from Google play store.Whenever you try to install an app a irritating notification will pop up showing "Insufficient Storage space to download app please clear some space and try again".Many people will try clearing cache some times it will work some times it wont. So what to do next ? Buy a new phone? Obviously NO.Then what ? Check this post you will get to know. We will discuss some simple ways to free up some space in this post.

Check Free Space on your SD card :

Sometimes if you dint have free space in your SD card you will get this notification. To check how much free space available in your SD card go to Settings > Storage. You can see how much free memory available in your SD card. If you think you have enough free space available in you SD card you can skip this step. If your SD card dont have enough free space then clear some space by clearing Cache and by deleting unwanted files. Some might have many important files stored on SD card and could not free up space in SD card if you are that type of person then it is better to get a higher capacity SD card or you can store in Cloud storages such as Google Drive, One Drive, Drop Box etc., We will discuss about cloud storages later in this post.

Uninstall unused Apps :

Most of us will install a app and try it for few days and never touch that.Kindly uninstall those unwanted apps which will eat some amount of memory. You can easily uninstall larger apps by sorting the app menu. For that go to Settings > Applications > Tap Menu (Three dots at the top) > Sort by Size. Uninstall unused big apps.

Clear individual app space :

On a long term usage each app build up its own large data space in the phone memory which itself eats a large amount of memory.Clear data and cache of apps regularly.Go to Settings > Applications > Select any app >  Clear data. If you use Facebook application just check how much memory Facebook app eats. I twice a month clear Facebook app data to free up some space. To avoid this you can use Facebook lite app but it is not as smooth as Facebook app.

Doing a clear data will wipe all of the app's data which means it will be like installing the app for the first time.

Cloud Storage :

If you have good and unlimited internet connection you can backup your data's to cloud storages such as Google Drive, One Drive, Drop Box etc., All the cloud storages have android app and you can easily sync it across your device.

Moving apps to SD :

If your device supports MicroSD card facility you can move large apps and their data to external SD card. You can easily move apps to SD card by Settings > Apps > Select any app > Move to SD card. You can also use third party apps like App2SD, Link2SD to move your apps to SD card. Some apps do not support moving to SD card.

By these steps you can free up some space in your device. Please note that these are temporary solution. If  you want to have permanent solutions you can root your device and can make secondary partition and link all your apps to SD card.
