Well this is not a fun post as the country not yet gets 4G coverage in every corner due to poor deployment and high cost. Nokia is in talks with various telecom providers for deployment of 5G network as trial basis however the Indian network providers are still investing in 4G to provide it everywhere across the country. Moreover the 4G speed in India is still worse comparing with 3G speed of other countries.
Nokia is already testing its fifth generation networks with various global telecom providers such as Verizon (US), NTT Docomo (Japan), SK Telecom (Korea).
Talking about the 5G networks Milivoj Vela (Nokia Networks Head of Mobile Broadband) said that the data is the main priority for 5G networks whereas the voice is carried over by 4G network.
It will be used for purposes beyond voice and data communications carried by people today. It will has less than 1 millisecond latency that will be used by machines for quick action like for to stop in case it identifies any obstacle, surgery from remote location etc. 5G will operate in spectrum band above 6000 Mhz and the technology will be launched in phases
Spectrum discussion in which the 5G network will operate would finish by 2019 and the commercial deployment of 5G will start by 2020 and then you will get guaranteed speed of 100 Mbps everywhere. - Vela added.
At present in India, mobile networks are operated between 700 Mhz and 2.6 Ghz whereas WiFi operates between 2.4 Ghz and 5.9 Ghz frequency.
With 5G networks users will experience high quality data experience and high quality voice calls have been provided by 4G. But in India even 3G cannot be afforded by many due to high pricing by the telecoms. For users to get benefited the pricing should be moderate.
