Asus not only revealed the new Zenfone 5 series but also launched the Asus Zenfone Max (M1) which is believed to be the sibling for the last year’s Zenfone Max Plus (M1).
The Zenfone Max (M1) (ZB555KL) is made of the aluminum body. The device weighs 150 grams with 8.7 mm thickness. Even though it is not the slim device available in the market but the thin bezels give a splendid look. Due to the thin bezels, the device has 83% screen-to-body ratio. The front has a 5.5-inch HD+ resolution (1440 x 720) IPS display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 293 PPI. The display is capable of producing up to 400 nits of brightness.
The Smartphone is powered by either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 or a Snapdragon 430 processor, depending on the region you buy. Also, you will get either 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage variant or 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage or else 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage again depends on the region you buy. The Zenfone Max M1 runs on Asus ZenUI 5.0 based on Android Oreo. Asus sure managed to release all the devices with Android Oreo at MWC. The internal storage can be expanded by a MicroSD card (Dedicated Slot).
Photography is powered by dual cameras at the rear with a primary 12MP f/2.0 aperture lens and 8MP secondary lens. The Rear camera has EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization), PDAF, LED flash and is capable of recording 1080p videos at 30FPS. The front camera has an 8MP sensor with f/2.2 and EIS support.
There are a limited number of sensors are there. These include Accelerometer, Magnetometer, Proximity and Ambient Light Sensor. The fingerprint sensor is located at the back.
Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with A-GPS support, BDS (BeiDou – China’s GPS Satellite), FM Radio and Micro USB 2.0 for data transfer and charging. The Zenfone Max (M1) is backed by a Non-Removable 4000 mAh Li-Po battery.
The Zenfone Max (M1) (ZB555KL) will be available in three color variants Deepsea Black, Sunlight Gold, and Ruby Red.
