Chinese technology blog ITHome on Tuesday posted a snapshot of a device and claimed it could be the OnePlus Company’s 2018 launch OnePlus 6. The snapshot shows a glass back device with vertically placed dual cameras with the fingerprint sensor and OnePlus logo right below it. Surprisingly the device front has a bezel-less display with an iPhone X like notch for lodging the front camera and sensors.
While the company’s CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the OnePlus 6 will be launched during the latter part of the second quarter (Q2 2018) that falls from April to June. We could possibly see the device in June. Pete also said that the OnePlus’s this year flagship model will come with the Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 processor and also the launch of a Mid-year upgrade (6T) is not 100 percent confirm hinting that company has changed its strategy.
There are many reports revolving around stating that the OnePlus 6 model number is P7819 and comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device will run on Oxygen OS based on Android Oreo 8.1. However, these reports need not be true.
Also, there is one thing that needs to be considered is the fact that this might be a prototype device and the final product could be something different. Technology blog TheVerge last year revealed some behind the scenes of the OnePlus 5 device which shows a hand full of OnePlus 5 prototypes. All these prototypes and yet one model will see the daylight. In the same way, this leaked OnePlus 6 snapshot could be a prototype device which may or may not be finalized.
Many OnePlus fans have already regretted this design in twitter.
