How To Install Android M on your Nexus Device

Google announced its preview for the next Android Version M last month end.Nexus users are always the first to taste any kind of development in Android.Likewise now Nexus users can Download and Install android M Preview on their Nexus device easily.

Disclaimer : This version is not a complete build.So it will have Bugs if you are aware of it then proceed for the installation. Tech Talks will not be held responsible if you bricked your device.

The Preview of the next version is currently available for Four devices of Nexus.These devices are Google Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player.

Downloads : 

Download the correct factory image for your device.

• Android M for Nexus 5
• Android M for Nexus 6
• Android M for Nexus 9
• Android M for Nexus Player
• Android Studio (Necessary)

Procedure :

• Download and install Android Studio Latest version on your Windows Computer.
• Add SDK Folder path by My Computer >  Properties >  Advanced System Settings > System Properties > Advanced > Environment Variables
• In the next appearing window select Path and then click on Edit and then type the name of the directory where you have installed SDK.( Each entry is seperated by Semi Colon)
• Enable USB Debugging  in Developer option in Settings. ( To enable Developer Option Go to > Settings > About Phone > Build Number  Tap Build Number 7-10 Times)
• Extract the downloaded Android M Preview on your Computer.
• Connect your Nexus Device to computer using USB Cable.
• Start Your Device in Fast Boot mode. (Use adb reboot bootloader  in Command Terminal.For Manual Method check here.)
• Now Open a Command Terminal and navigate to the extracted image folder.
• Then Type flash-all.bat. This installs necessary Bootloader, Baseband and OS. (If needed unlock Bootloader using fastboot oem unlock and then install Android M Preview.After installation completes Lock Bootloader using fastboot oem lock)

Thats all you have successfully installed Android M preview on your Nexus Device.According to a report Monthly OTA updates will be available until the complete launch of Android M.
