Vodafone, India's second largest telecom provider is all set to launch 4G services in India this December.As of now bigger cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta and Cochi are the first line of cities to experience Vodafone 4G in India. After Airtel, Vodafone is the second telecom provider to launch 4G in India.
“Having launched 4G services in several countries, Vodafone has the requisite expertise and experience to ensure that its service in Kolkata will be best in class”, Anand Sahai, business head (Kolkata and West Bengal) Vodafone India, said in a statement. The 4G services will be launched in December this year, the statement added. Delhi NCR and Kolkatta will be part of the first wave of 4G roll out in the Country.
Vodafone has invested more than 96 Crore Rupees to modernise and upgrade exisiting 2G and 3G systems in the city.Vodafone acquired spectrum for these circles in January 2015 but due to strong laws and implementation of equipment caused the delay of 4G launch. Vodafone will be using equipment's made by Ericsson and Swedish made Nokia equipment to launch 4G SIM's in India.
